Halpatiokee Chapter, DAR, awarded National Defense Committee ROTC Medals and certificates to three recipients at the three Martin County High Schools JROTC Awards Ceremonies at our monthly meeting.

Cadet Maj. Kelsey Perez, South Fork High School; Cadet Maj. Annie Golko, Martin County High School; and Cadet Maj. Sandra Burt, Jensen Beach High School, were honored at their JROTC award ceremonies and at the May Halpatiokee DAR meeting.

The cadets each received certificates and a $50 check in appreciation for their outstanding service from LynnAnn White, Veterans’ Chairman, and Maj. Joyce Fletcher Menard, US Army (Ret.) and Regent of Halpatiokee NSDAR.

“It is such a pleasure to meet these exceptional young women,” said Menard, “and we wish them well on their continuing journey in service to their country.”

The Halpatiokee Chapter of the Florida State Daughters of the American Revolution was organized in Stuart in 1949. Its mission is to keep the spirit of the DAR through historic preservation, education and patriotism. It strives to perpetuate the memory and spirit of the men and women who achieved American independence.
