A Salute to Veterans

On Veterans Day, put out your flags, cheer the marchers at parades, and go to tributes.
But when you wake up the next day, Nov. 12, remember that it’s still Veterans Day
for our veterans — and it will be every day of their lives.

The Halpatiokee chapter DAR meeting in November was dedicated as a “Salute to Veterans” to say thank you to America’s veterans, to salute their service, honor their sacrifice, and promise that their dedication to our country will never be forgotten.

Hosted by  DAR State Regent Cynthia Wolfe Symanek and Vice Regent Esther Twitchell, this meeting paid tribute to all veterans—those fresh from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars; from WWII, Korea and Vietnam; and all those who died for our freedom throughout America’s history—and acknowledged their families, who have sacrificed along with them. They deserve our thanks on Veterans Day and on every day of the year.
